CERTIFICATIONS
The Step-By-Step Process to Certification Potential applicants must submit a letter on company stationery requesting a certification application packet; be sure to identify which certification you are seeking: Certified Remodeler (CR), Certified Remodeler Specialist (CRS), Certified Remodeler Associate (CRA), Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), and Certified Remodeling Carpenter (CRC). Include with your letter a check (made out to "NARI") or credit card information (the name that appears on the credit card, card number, and expiration date) to cover the application and materials fee these fees are not refundable. Mail or fax-if paying by VISA, MC, or AMEX-your letter and payment to: NARI National will send your certification materials as soon as your request and payment have been processed, usually within 10 business days of receiving your request, but please allow up to 30 days for your request to be processed. Complete all paperwork: application form, Qualification Matrix, letters of recommendation (required for NARI CLC applicants only), and return all of these materials in one package to NARI National (at the above address) at least 45 days before the tentatively scheduled exam date. (We regret that we cannot schedule applicants for the exam until all of their paperwork and fees have been received by NARI National). Upon receipt of your completed paperwork, NARI National will schedule you for the exam and send you an invoice to cover the exam fee. This fee may be refunded if the candidate is found ineligible to sit for the exam. Submit payment for the exam to NARI National (at the above address or via fax, if paying by credit card) several days before the exam so that your payment can be accurately recorded. (Applicants whose exam fees have not been received seven days before the exam will be expected to make payment the day of the exam). You will sit for the exam on the scheduled date; details of the exam process will be provided well in advance of the exam date. The NARI Certification Board will review your exam score and Qualification Matrix before accepting or declining your certification. Candidates are usually notified of the Certification Board's decision within 30 days of taking the exam. Successful candidates will receive their Certification materials approximately 10 days after the Certification Board has made its decision. * *Often, chapters request that certification materials be sent directly to them so that they can make a special presentation honoring new recipients; in these cases, materials are sent to the chapter. |
