2007 HOME REMODELING TOUR #6

Washtenaw Woodwrights - 1518 Linwood Avenue

This home is a bonanza of Motawi tile, because it is owned by Nawal Motawi of Motawi Tileworks. A beautifully styled west side home with classic features, it had cramped space, a difficult kitchen, and no first floor bath. Designed and built by Washtenaw Woodwrights, the renovation, featured in Detroit Home magazine, now features a study/dining room addition, an expanded kitchen, a full bathroom in the old kitchen space, gracious arches connecting the old and new, a new cedar deck and, best of all, Motawi tile featured prominently in the kitchen and bath. This unique project deserves a visit!

When homeowners need help making their homes look nicer and function better, they frequently turn to Washtenaw Woodwrights. Working from their sparkling Main Street showroom, owner Bruce Curtis and his design-build team draw on decades of experience to craft inspired renovations that stand the test of time. Winners of numerous design awards, their work has appeared in American Bungalow magazine, Old House Interiors, and Signature Kitchen and Baths. From cabinets to full kitchen renovations to major additions, Washtenaw Woodwrights has been helping homeowners with distinctively styled renovations since 1983.
